It’s easy to say you’re a Christian entrepreneur.
It’s harder to live like one when success starts speaking louder than Scripture. In a world where charisma often overshadows character, we need more than catchy phrases and cross necklaces—we need leaders rooted in integrity, faith, and a commitment to truth. If you’ve ever wondered how to discern real Christian leadership from performance, this story will hit home.
“Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
— 1 Thessalonians 5:16–18 (NIV)
Not All “Christian” Coaches Operate in Truth
I once coached a woman who had found great success in network marketing. She brought me in to co-lead a conference with her, and after the event’s success, we moved toward building a small group coaching program with another prominent figure—a millionaire entrepreneur and movie producer.
He had the look, the energy, the charisma… and occasionally tossed out a Bible verse. But then the red flags showed up.
“Let’s say there are only 8 spots to build demand,” he said. “If we get more people, we’ll just tell them we ‘found’ more room.”In other words, lie to build hype.
Not stretch the truth. Not spin it.
Lie.
And that was just the start. It became clear his version of “Christian values” was more brand than belief.
Marketing with Integrity Matters
There’s nothing wrong with scarcity in marketing—it’s a proven tool. But there is something wrong when scarcity is fabricated just to manipulate a sale.
Real Christian entrepreneurship doesn’t use deception as a strategy.
If you build your platform on lies, don’t be surprised when the fruit of your business turns bitter.
Discern Who You Follow
This isn’t just about shady business deals. It’s a call to discernment.
Before hiring a Christian business coach or aligning your brand with another leader:
Watch their walk.
Do they consistently reflect Christ, or just reference Him?
Listen to your spirit. Does your heart feel at peace, or is there hesitation?
Ask better questions.
Their certifications might be impressive, but how do they pray when no one’s watching?
Practical Takeaway
Credentials, charisma, and even conference stages mean nothing if a person isn’t actively growing in Christ.
Faith and business are not two separate compartments. They must be aligned—or the whole thing cracks.
Memorable Closing
We’re not called to be “Christian” in name only.
We’re called to rejoice always, pray continually, and give thanks in all things. That’s not just God’s will for your personal life—it’s His will for your business.
