When we go through struggles and stress, we often feel all alone in the struggles.  There is something to be said about “carrying one another’s burdens.” The Bible says that is how we will “fulfill the law of Christ.” (Gal 6:2)  We must turn that verse inward and seek the help we need when we are stressed.

You are not in this alone.

God placed people in your life for a reason.  Just look around your office, your church and your family.  Faith is mean to be lived out in community.  When we are part of a strong community, our problems can be a lot easier to handle because the burden is lifted by many hands.

Define the situation

First, let’s stop calling them problems and start calling them challenges or opportunities.

Struggles and stress take us off track from what God wants for us.  Sometimes He wants us to take some corrective action.  Sometimes He wants us to grow so that the obstacles become easy to overcome.  In all these situations, He wants us to realize that He is with us.

God may not be able to come down and add some money to your bank.  He may not stop by in your legal proceedings to represent your case, but He has put His people in your life for a reason.  God always gives you what you need when you rely on Him.

Bring in others

Many times, as Christian business owners, we find ourselves in the middle of a situation that is just beyond our control.  We get stressed because we want to take on the challenge by ourselves.  Have you ever stopped to think that someone else may have gone through the same thing and they can help you get to a solution much faster?  Have you ever thought that someone in a ‘lower status’ than you could give insight to help you through your situation?

We must learn to humble ourselves if we are going to get through tough times in this world.  We can try to plow through the situations alone, but how much better is it if we can learn from others and lean on the wisdom of those who have been where we are.

Take action

Reach out today to a mentor, someone in the same industry you are, or just chat about your situation with someone older and wiser than you.  You may find a solution to your situation is much closer and much easier than you think.
