quotes for discouragementBelow are three quotes for discouragement.  Each one is followed by a quick thought and a practical action.  When you take action, it is easier to get past your circumstance.

Develop success from failures.  Discouragement and failure are two of the surest stepping stones to success. – Dale Carnegie

There is an old Japanese proverb that simply says, “Fall down seven times.  Get up eight.”  When we get discouraged, we must take action.  Never, ever give up on your dreams, especially if you know that God has called you to help others.  Christian entrepreneurs are needed now more than ever, don’t give up.  What is one thing you can learn from what you are going through right now?  Write down ten things you are thankful for.

Difficulties are meant to rouse us, not discourage.  The human spirit is to grow strong by conflict.  William E. Channing

Even the Bible tells us that perseverance develops character (see Romans 5:4).  We all have dips in the road, but it is when we look to God and persevere anyway that success comes.  We just need to take the next step.   What is one thing you can do right now that gets you one step closer to your dreams?

Help others achieve their dreams and you will achieve yours. –Les Brown

When we are discouraged we often beat ourselves up.  We focus on the negative and our eyes get blinded to how temporary our troubles really are.  When you are discouraged or depressed take time to encourage someone else.  Call someone who is going through a rough time or post something encouraging for them on their Facebook.  When you take your eyes off of self, the world becomes a better place.  What can you do today to encourage someone else?

Quick Testimony

I have to admit, I’ve been going through a tough time.  It is hard to get out of a ‘funk’ in life.  I chose to write these three lessons about discouragement despite being in the middle of tough times.  I feel better because I took action outside of myself.

Each day as I wrote I pictured one person, maybe it’s you, that was lifted up a bit closer to God and closer to their dreams.  It brought a smile to my face.  I no longer dwelled in the mire of my own thoughts but chose to dwell in the hope of helping one more person.

And for those of you who sent a message.  Know that I am praying for you.

These statements represent many of you:

  • My friend, your finances will become better when you rely on God to give you the vision and deeply seek Him.
  • My friend, I know loss is hard.  I don’t have the words to reach your pain.  Simply remember to be strong and take courage for the Lord is with you.
  • My friend, your business is God’s business.  Release it to Him and lean on Him for your understanding of what to do next.
  • My friend, you can accomplish much more than you think when you set your eyes on what God wants and take action.  Action is what it takes to lead to success.

One last thought for all of you, my friends.  Keep your eyes focused on success.  When you think only of failures and past mistakes, you get off the path that God has given you.  The path to success is driven by vision.  What vision does God have for YOU?  Start now!!

Sincerely,

Rev. Lyle.
